1994 Chevrolet S10 Blazer short ram air intake?

December 21st, 2010 · No Comments

I’m looking to install a Short Ram air intake on my Blazer. With a typical kit, do I have to mess with the MAF and intake sensors with the installation? I looked at the intake system on my Blazer, and it appears as if all of the sensors are positioned between the throttle body and the tubing for the intake, not on the intake itself. But I’m not completely sure. Has anyone here installed a short ram or even a cold air intake on one of these before?

Ans: I have a 96 S 10 4.3L and installed an K&N intake on it. It was a piece of cake. I have installed Airaid and K&N intakes on several vehicles and have found every installation to be straight forward and easy. Based on experience I would recommend two things, buy a kit with a plastic tube, not metal, and buy a really good name brand kit as some cheaper kits have not been flow tested and really do no good at all. My last intake purchase was with PerformanceParts.com, they are factory authorized by both K&N and Airaid.
