2005 Nissan Altima engine won’t start until second turn of the key

December 23rd, 2010 · No Comments

The problem just started today. I turn the key and the engine won’t start now longer how long I let the starter go. It’s only until I turn the key the second time when the car starts, but I do have to turn the key longer than normal for it to turn on.

Long crank time can be caused by many things. Depressing the throttle? Low fuel level? Fuel pump check valve? Fuel injector leaks? Many Altima have issues with crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor. Recalls have they been preformed?

- I see that you’re hiding from your regular section so you don’t appear too dainty and feminine asking such an asinine question. Big deal, at least you have the car. It starts, right? What the problem is?
