How to turn off Mercedes Warning Message after problem fixed?

January 3rd, 2011 · No Comments

I have a 2001 C230 and the light came on to get brake lining fixed. I went and got it done at a cheaper place than the dealership and they are working great now. Only thing is that warning message still come on everytime I start my car. Anyone know how to turn it off?

- not really sure on mercedes … but the standard way is either …
1) press the reset button and dont release on the speedometer and then turn the key abit but not the engine you only want to see the staring lights not the engine at idle… wait for 25 seconds and then release the button.. turn the car off and back on or

- As already mentioned, chances are they did not replace the wear indicator sensing units on the brake pads or did not connect them at all. The brake wear indicator on the 01’s are a simple sensor and not a digital that is tripped by the computer.
I would take it back to the garage that done the repair and ask them to check it out. If they start saying that it will cost extra or that there is another problem then go to another garage.
I have had nothing but excellent service from Mercedes “owned” garages.
Sometimes pinching pennies can cost you some big dollars.
