How can i increase gas mileage on 1994 Chevrolet Silverado?

January 7th, 2011 · No Comments

I have a 1994 Chevrolet silverado. i was trying to find ways of making its fuel last longer!
- For starters I would get some sea-foam and run some through the intake vacuum hose as instructed on the can then add the rest to the gas tank. After doing that I would be sure to keep up on regular maintenance like changing oil, rotating and checking tire pressure, also check your spark plugs make sure the points are good and that they are gapped correctly. Another thing I would do and this is because I’ve done it with my truck is put a cold air intake on it. I gained an average of about 1-2 mpg more than normal plus the truck has more power. I would really consider trying a cold air intake it is a little extra money but after so many months it literally pays for itself. If you try those things your truck will run more efficient and with the cold air intake it will also sound really good. Trust me I was looking for ways to increase my gas mileage and this is really the best way to do it. O and not to mention driving habits should be a little less aggressive so instead of taking off fast ease into it.
- First use red line fuel injector cleaner, clean everything out so it sprays in a fine mist. You can inflate your tires to the max pressure as well. Clean air filter regularly and basic maintenance will help also. Guessing you are maybe short on money. Injector cleaner is about $7, and you can find air for free. It wont be a huge difference, there is only so much you can do.
