Recommended tire pressure for a 2007 Nissan Maxima?

October 22nd, 2011 · No Comments

Every couple of weeks I have to put air in my tire because my tire pressure light pops up. I had my tires check and my rims to see if there is a leak or something and they were fine. Is it normal to keep putting air in tires every couple of weeks? Or could there be some other issue? Also, please tell me the recommended tire pressure to put in the tires. I’ve been putting about 40. Is this too much?

- On the driver door most all cars is a sticker which recomends tire size and pressures.
Which is only a recomended still up to you has driver to watcvh for wear signs and adjust pressure to your car or rotate or re- align
type into search box
how to read tire wear
will get you pictures of wear and what cause it.
40 might be too much but it depends on tire wear and driver is what i run in all my car tires
really but i know what wear signs are too and adjust if it needs it 35 pounds and up and if you have to ad air more than once a month you have a leak.
You learn signs of tire wear you wil keep your tires longer check them once a month add if they need it and if you have to add alot you got a leak and you can look for it with soapy water or take to a shop have check for leaks and talk with them about air pressure they be glad to help its our job.

- 40 sound good but i might bump it down to 35 for optimal traction and to keep from wearing one part of the tire down faster then the other. If the weather is cold than the air molecules in the tire will compress and cause the tire to look low and if it is not cold than the tire shop is trying to make it were you will have to buy new tires giving them more money. tire shops don’t really care about the safety of the costumer just the money they get from you.

- It depends on your wheel size. Are they stock 15 inch or 16 inch? The 16 inch rims have shorter sidewall tires and require a higher tire pressure 50 to 55 lbs. 15 inch rims only require 33 to 38 lbs because the sidewalls are taller and can take more of a hit. So it depends on your tires. You should not have to put air in them every couple of weeks. So you probably have a small leak. Also, tire pressure can change with the outdoor temperature. As it gets colder your tires will deflate as cold air compresses. The hotter it is the more air will expand and increase your tire pressure.
