Locate rear bumper attachment point on driver side. Remove bumper fasteners. Install upper mount onto linkage as shown and torque bolts to 33 ft-lbs / 44 Nm. Slide upper mount over factory studs, install fasteners and torque to 59 ft-lbs / 80 Nm. Install step pad assembly onto linkage assembly with two socket cap screws. Adjust step pad position side to side. Allow for foot access. Torque allen head bolts to 10 ft-lbs / 13.5 Nm.

Measure from the center of the wheel up to the bottom edge of the wheel opening

NOTE: The factory service manual specifically states that striking the knuckle to loosen the ball joints or tie rod ends is prohibited. Striking the aluminum knuckle can damage it. A special puller tool #8677 (or equivalent ball joint tool) is recommended to be used to separate these components from the knuckle.

1. Remove the negative battery cable first, then the positive battery cable. If equipped, the Supplemental Restraint System will be deactivated when the battery is disconnected.
2. Measure and record the space between the bumpers and the body as well as the space between the cab and bed for reference during installation of this kit.

1999-2005 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins Low Fuel Pressure Alarm Light Kit

The purpose of this kit is to indicate to the driver with the red/amber LED, if the supply fuel pressure of the VP44 injection pump is dropping below 5psi. Also note that damage may result to the VP44 if it is starved for fuel. If you are finding that your existing setup cannot supply enough fuel for the VP44, you may want to look at some additional kits to protect your system.
