Acura B18 Valve Spring Set Instructions

The COMP Cams® Acura/Honda B-Series VTEC valve spring set (Fig. A) utilizes dual springs on the intake side and a single spring on the exhaust side. Below are the information and diagrams to ensure correct installation.
Installation Instructions:

Dual Intake Spring
Installed Height: 60lbs at 1.375
Open Height: 220 lbs at .875
Coil Bind Height: .815
Spring Rate: 300 lbs per inch

SWI-ALP Universal Steering Wheel Control Interface Instructions

Prepare for the installation.
• If possible, install the SWI-ALP while you are installing the new head unit. Keep in mind you may need to plug in the factory stereo to locate certain wires; therefore do not complete the head unit installation until the SWI-ALP is working properly.
• Plan a general installation location for both the SWI-ALP plug and the control body. Keep in mind that the supplied wire harness is two feet long, and the 1/8″ plug harness is three feet long.
• Use a multimeter or approved measuring device for checking vehicle circuits

2002-Up ACURA RSX including 6-spd Type-S Precision Sport Shifter Installation

This B&M Precision Sport Shifter has been designed to work on most 2002+ Acura RSX/Honda Integra (including 6- spd Type-S) and 2001+ Honda Civic models equipped with a manual transmission. It has been engineered to greatly reduce shift throw and improve shifter feel. Check the parts and tools lists at the beginning of these instructions for the supplied parts and the tools required to install your B&M Precision Sport Shifter. Installation of the B&M Precision Sport Shifter can be accomplished by anyone with minimal mechanical experience.

Honda/Acura Traction System Installation Instructions

This system is a bolt-on package that is designed to enhance traction by eliminating wheel hop and promoting weight transfer to the front wheels. Installation of this product requires the permanent removal of the factory plastic splash pan located just behind the radiator support. No other modifications are required for installation.

01-06 Acura MDX Cabin Air Filter Replacement for OEM

1. The filter is located behind the glove compartment. Unscrew the 2 screws at the bottom of the glove box cover to loosen the it. Remove glove box and set it aside.
2. Cut the plastic cover along the dotted lines shown and remove it. Dispose off plastic cover, it is no longer needed. This exposes the metal cross bar under it. Locate and remove 2 additional bolts securing bar. Remove and set it aside.

1988-2000 Honda Civic & Acura 1.6 EL TWM Performance Short Throw Shifter Installation Manual

1. Unscrew the stock shift knob by rotating it counter clockwise.
2. Remove all screws securing center console and remove console.
3. Remove the rubber dust boot surrounding the shifter, use caution not to damage it. Put it in a safe place for re-installation later.
4. Place the car up on a lift, or use a jack and jack stands to raise it off the ground. Loosen the nut on the base of the shifter using a 12mm socket and ratchet. You may need to hold the head of the bolt on the opposite side of the shift rod with a wrench to loosen the nut.

Acura RSX Seat Heater Install

Be sure to test the heaters to make sure they work properly before going to the trouble of installing them. I just connected them to my battery terminals to do a quick test. This should only take a couple minutes and is a worthwhile precaution. Additionally, I would recommend getting some upholstery hog rings and hog pliers. These can be purchased as a package from JCWhitney for about $4-5.

Nix that noise on the Acura MDX

Walt’s 2001 Acura® MDX comes into your shop complaining that the dashboard is creaking. Just the thought of crawling under the dashboard of Walt’s Acura makes your back start creaking. Fortunately, you don’t have to be a contortionist to perform this repair. The fix involves removing the front damper/spring assembly, grinding off body spot weld burrs and refinishing the surface, and/or installing self adhesive shims (Acura P/N 75826-634-300, H/C 0701896) three per side, to the damper mounting base.

2002 and up Acura RSX, RSX-Type S Short Throw Shift Adapter Installation Manual

1. Pull down chrome collar and carefully unscrew and remove the stock shift knob.
2. Remove the front console cover. Pull up from the front to unclip the clips and remove from the vehicle.
3. Remove the 2 screws securing the front part of the console. Remove any additional screws that may be holding the center part of the console in place, this may vary by year and model. Lift the 2 tabs shown to the right over the center section of the console so that they rest on the outside of the console assembly.
