6600 Series Chip Module Installation

April 27th, 2009 · No Comments

The vehicle must be turned off and the keys MUST NOT be in the ignition during the entire installation. We recommend that you place the keys in your pocket while installing the module. Failure to follow this suggestion may result in damage to your PCM.

Removal of PCM
Begin by disconnecting the negative battery terminal of your car’s battery. Next, locate your car’s PCM. The PCM is held in place by a 7/32” or 5.5mm bolt. Please remove this bolt. Next, remove the wiring harness by use of 10mm socket and ratchet. Slowly and gently pull the PCM out of its location and out of the car.

MoboScan 8550 User’s Manual

November 26th, 2008 · No Comments

The MoboScan8550 VW/AUDI Scanning Reader is specially designed to work with most Volkswagen and Audis sold Worldwide of 1990 or newer models. If a VW/AUDI has a 16-pin “OBD-II style” Data Link Connector (DTC), the Scanning Reader will certainly work. If it has an old-style 2×2 Data Link Connector (DTC), then it depends on whether there are 4 or 3 wires connecting to the pins. If there are 4 wires, each connecting a pin, then it will work. If there are only 3 wires, leaving one pin disconnected, then it will not work. For VW/AUDIs with old-style 2×2 Data Link Connector (DTC), you need to have a 2×2 cabling adapter which is not included in this product package.

AM/FM Reception Problems

September 5th, 2008 · No Comments

Almost every reception problem is caused by one of two things: a bad ground on the antenna, or a bad antenna cable running from the antenna to the radio.
There are (2) parts to an antenna and you have to understand the antenna cable itself. Antenna cables are coaxial style cables. Coax cables have a thin center conductor wire at the center of the cable and an outer metal braid just under the plastic jacket of the cable. The center conductor carries the signal and the outer shield serves two purposes, it shields the inner conductor from radiated noises and acts as the negative voltage path. 99% of antenna reception problems can be traced to either one of these two parts of the antenna cable.
