How fast can my Cadillac go?

December 31st, 2010 · No Comments

I have a 1992 Cadillac Sedan Deville Executive Series with the extra chrome and it is a foot longer then the regular model caddy for at it’s time. I am wondering how fast it can go? It has a 4.6 liter V-8. A newer model Porsche has the same engine in it. I am wondering if it could eat out the Porsche that has the same engine in it? And also don’t forget to tell me how fast it can go!

2006 Cadillac CTS, cannot use switch to lock all doors?

December 31st, 2010 · No Comments

my family got a 2006 Cadillac CTS, and we’re running into some trouble. We can unlock the doors manually and by using the remote on the key, but not with the switch on the driver’s armrest. Same thing with the windows; there’s no response when we hit the switch on the armrest either. What could the problem be? I was flipping through the manual, hoping it was just a theft deterrent thing, but I couldn’t find anything. We got the car used from a dealership, in good condition. Only one person owned it before us, and the Carfax said it was fine. Does anyone have an idea how this can be fixed?

1995 Cadillac Seville Radiator is leaking, how much would it cost to fix?

December 31st, 2010 · No Comments

On a 1995 Cadillac Seville, and until I get it fixed what should i do?
- New radiators are too cheap to bother fixing old ones. It will be about $200 to replace it. One that old will be in pretty bad shape and would start leaking again or give out all together pretty soon if you just repaired the leak. The leak could get a lot worse real fast, so it’s not a good idea to drive with it like that.

Why is there transmission fluid in my Cadillac radiator?

December 31st, 2010 · No Comments

I have a 1995 Fleetwood Cadillac, we had to replace the radiator shortly after we got the car. Since then we have been losing transmission fluid, my husband changed the fluid and screen and it was still slipping and when he went to flush the radiator he discovered where the trans fluid has been going. Why and how did it get in there? Was the radiator installed incorrectly? Also we have noticed a smell of antifreeze coming into the car. Is all of this linked and is there something major wrong, or can it be fixed easily?

2000 Cadillac sts which sits in the garage

December 30th, 2010 · No Comments

I only drive the Cadillac about once a month, less in the winter and more in the summer as I live in Chicago and dont like salt on the paint. 3 weeks ago was the last time I drove it. I went to start it up this morning and the interior lights wouldent go on because of dead battery. I purchased a new battery last year. Is the security system draining the battery? Is this common? Am I letting the car sit too long, I hear it’s bad for the seals. How often should I drive the car? I dont drive it very much out of fear of paying $3500 for headgasket.

Should i get my transmission flushed?

December 30th, 2010 · No Comments

I have a 1993 Cadillac Deville with 230k miles on it. I bought it from an older man that seemed to take care of it. But i have no idea when the last time he has flushed the transmission. I took it into a tire shop and they mentioned the transmission fluid is ‘dirty’ or something.
I asked another question about how much it would cost, and I got several answers that said to not do it at all.

How a car with throttle body injection acts when the fuel pressure regulator goes bad?

December 29th, 2010 · No Comments

I have an 86 Cadillac Deville thats acting like its getting too much gas, and barely runs. I know that a bad regulator on a higher pressure multiport system can do things like that, but I don’t know if a throttle body system is more likely to close and not get any gas, or get stuck open and get too much. Also, could a bad o2 sensor cause anything this extreme?

How much will it cost to fix an ac leak in a ‘99 Cadillac Deville?

December 29th, 2010 · No Comments

I have a ‘99 Cadillac Deville and I live in Florida. To those who don’t know or haven’t guessed, it’s insane to live here and not have ac. I got my brakes fixed a couple weeks ago at Tires Plus and the mechanics also checked my ac for me. They told me I had a leak, and that it would cost about $800 to fix it. He said it because I had a $2500 system.
Does this sound like a reasonable price to pay to get my ac fixed? Should I take my car to a place that specializes in ac and will they cost less? Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.
