Replace transaxle fluid every 12,000 miles under short trip driving conditions. Under long trip driving conditions, change fluid every 30,000 miles.
Prizm
Under normal driving conditions, no fluid changes are necessary. Under severe driving conditions, change fluid every 30,000 miles or 24 months.

A child restraint system is any device designed for use in a motor vehicle to restrain, seat, or position children. A built-in child restraint system is a permanent part of the motor vehicle. An add-on child restraint system is a portable one, which is purchased by the vehicle’s owner. For many years, add-on child restraints have used the adult belt system in the vehicle. To help reduce the chance of injury, the child also has to be secured within the restraint. The vehicle’s belt system secures the add-on child restraint in the vehicle, and the add-on child restraint’s harness system holds the child in place within the restraint.

There is an airbag readinesslight on the instrument panel, which shows “AIR BAG’ on it. The system checks the airbag’s electrical system for malfunctions. The light tells you if there is an electrical problem.See “Air Bag Readiness Light” in Index for more the information. When should an air bag inflate? The air bag is designed to inflate in moderate to severe frontal or near-frontal crashes. The airbag will inflate only if the impact speed is above the system’s designed “threshold level.” If your vehicle goes straight into a wall that doesn’t move or deform, the threshold level is about 9 to 15 mph ( 14 to 24 km/h).
