Locate the vacuum – There is a rubber bung over a spigot on the inlet side of the front carburetor, as shown below left. Remove this bung and then press the Damper Elbow, part number 4, onto the spigot. The RMV can be positioned under the seat, as shown in the third picture. Install Galfer Brake lines after HeliBars® are installed. Carefully follow their instructions.
A. Before the factory bars are removed:
1. Carefully loosen the clutch hydraulic line banjo bolt at the clutch master cylinder just enough to rotate the steel banjo fitting forward. (See photo A for positioning). Additional fine adjustments may be required after installation of HeliBars. This modification is necessary for the new bar location / hydraulic line clearance.

Scottoiler: Ducati ST4s Installation

Locate the vacuum – There is a vacuum point on the inlet tract, as shown below left. Remove the screw and replace with the M5 Brass Spigot from the Scottoiler kit, using some RTV Silicon Sealant on the threads to ensure an airtight seal. Then press the Damper Elbow, part number 4, onto the spigot.
The RMV can be mounted on the frame as indicated by the arrows in the third picture. The more vertical the RMV the better and remember to avoid exhaust and engine components. For other fitting options, see our easy step installation guide ‘RMV Positions, General’.
The Dispenser Assembly, shown bottom left, is routed along the underside of the Swingarm using Dispenser Mounting Sleeves, Cable Ties & Glue. Note: an epoxy resin (eg. Araldite) is req’d to bond the sleeves to the Swingarm. For further information see our easy step installation guide - ‘Dispenser Assemblies, General’.
Once fitted, fill and prime the system and set the adjuster knob to ‘prime’. Start the engine and turn the adjuster knob until a flow of between 1 and 2 drops per minute is achieved. Check the condition of your chain after a ride, and then adjust as required. The nib should feed the sprocket between the 6 & 7 o’clock positions, with the cut face facing outwards. Thumping Along in an Acura MDX

Bill secured his son James, and his dog Skippy, into their 2001 Acura® MDX for a weekend fishing trip. As they drew nearer to “Camp Chasing Squirrel” on an old fire road, Bill noticed a “thump” noise from his MDX. After returning with lots of great stories and lots of wet paw prints, he called me about the thumping.

Nix that noise on the Acura MDX

Walt’s 2001 Acura® MDX comes into your shop complaining that the dashboard is creaking. Just the thought of crawling under the dashboard of Walt’s Acura makes your back start creaking. Fortunately, you don’t have to be a contortionist to perform this repair. The fix involves removing the front damper/spring assembly, grinding off body spot weld burrs and refinishing the surface, and/or installing self adhesive shims (Acura P/N 75826-634-300, H/C 0701896) three per side, to the damper mounting base.

2005-2007 BMW K1200S Installation Instructions

A) To remove left handlebar:
1. Remove bar end weights.
2. Cut two small cable ties holding wire loom from left control housing (PHOTO 1) one under the handlebar anti rotation bracket and the other attaching the wire loom to the underside of the top triple clamp. Do the same on the right side.
3. Remove the clutch master cylinder from the left bar.
4. Remove the forward plastic control housing cover (2 screws) Loosen the two screws that sandwich the bar between the forward plate and the rear half of the left control housing(PHOTO 2).
5. Remove the two screws attaching the left handgrip sleeve to the left bar tube1 on top and 1 on the bottom (PHOTO 3).
6. Remove the anti rotation bracket holding screw located under the top triple clamp (PHOTO 4).
7. Loosen the two screws clamping the left bar to the triple clamp. Only the inner most crew needs to be removed to withdraw the stock bar.

On the RHS of the bike there is a vacuum pipe between the cylinder head and the throttle bodies, running behind the throttle pulleys, as shown below left. Cut into this pipe and insert the T-Piece from the Scottoiler kit. Then press the Damper Elbow, part number 4, onto the third leg of the tee. 2002 onward models: On the LHS of the bike there is a vacuum pipe with a check valve in it, as shown in the third picture. Cut into this pipe on the left of the check valve and insert the T-Piece from the Scottoiler kit. Then press the Damper Elbow, part number 4, onto the third leg of the tee.
