Position truck on a flat surface and lift vehicle by the frame so that the front wheels are off the ground. Use a minimum 3 ton jack stands and place under frame for safety or a (2) two post lift if available. Make sure that the emergency brake is on and the rear wheels are blocked to prevent a rollout.

AODE Transbrake Instructions

This transbrake has been thoroughly tested before being packed and shipped. Proper operation depends on following a few basic instructions. As you may know, the AODE/4R70W transmissions are computer controlled and must retain all wiring connections inside and outside the transmission. Ford EEC-V J3-8B Chip module Install Instructions

When working with static sensitive electronic parts, care must be taken to ensure the electronics are not damaged from static electricity discharge. You can wear a static strap grounded to the vehicles body as the safest way to guard against static discharge. Alternatively you can touch a raw metal (unpainted) part of the body to ground yourself and discharge any static buildup. Do this regularly to prevent static build up.

Included in this kit: Inlet pipe, coupler hose, hose clamps, air filter, air filter shield, and rubber sealant strip. (2) M-4 screws.
Tools required: Small flat screwdriver or pick, 1/4″ ratchet, 8mm, and 10mm sockets, 2.5mm Allen wrench, T-20 Torx.
Step 1
Disconnect (–) negative battery terminal.
Step 2
Unplug the mass air meter by sliding the red colored locking clip back, and then squeezing the tab on the connector while pulling it from the mass air meter.
