A common misconception about nitrous oxide is that it is explosive or flammable. Nitrous by itself does not burn, nor is it explosive. At 565 deg. F, nitrous oxide (N20) breaks apart and forms two parts nitrogen and one part oxygen. Inside an engine, this added oxygen speeds up the combustion process (the nitrogen plays an important part in buffering the reaction). Whenever nitrous is used, additional fuel is necessary; otherwise the added oxygen will act as a blowtorch inside your engine. When used properly, nitrous oxide provides the same benefits as turbo charging or supercharging your engine (extra power is made by burning more fuel and oxygen), but without the added cost or complexities.

Flyin’ Miata Fuel Rail Installation Instructions
July 29th, 2009 · No Comments
Congratulations on purchasing the FM Fuel Rail! We’re confident that this is a high quality piece that will help ensure the safety and performance of the engine in your Miata. Following are instructions that will help you safely install this piece.
1. The fuel system first needs to have its pressure re- lieved. There are two ways to do this, it’s safest to do them both. First, find the relay that’s pictured to the side. It will be underneath the dash, near the steering column. It should look similar to the relay in the picture, but different years had different relays, so it might not be exactly the same. Look for a blue wire with a red stripe, that’s the wire that goes to the fuel pump. Start the car and let it idle. While the car is idling, unplug the relay. This will kill the engine, as it’s no longer being fed the fuel it needs. Turn the car off once the engine has stopped. The gas cap also needs to be removed, to ensure that pressure doesn’t build up in the tank. Don’t reinstall it until the fuel rail is in.

Locate fuel supply line coming from tank on the drivers’ side frame rail. There are 2 steel lines, the top line (smaller of the 2 lines) is for fuel return to the tank, the bottom line is the fuel supply line (see Figure 1) and is the larger of the 2 lines.
STEP 1:
Cut and remove a section of the fuel supply line; approximately 6 inches will be enough. Use a flaring tool on both ends; this will help keep the fuel hose on the line.
