The AEM Cold Air Systems are 50 states Street Legal (some model and years still pending) and come with complete instructions for ease of installation. Our system is constructed of lightweight aluminum and then painted with a zirconia based powder coat for superior heat insulating characteristics. The aluminum will not crack in extended use like plastic and it is actually lighter than plastic. The tube diameter and length are matched for each engine to give power over a broad rpm range. Unlike the plastic systems that use a continually diverging cross section, we take advantage of the acoustical energy in the duct to promote cylinder filling during the intake valve-opening event.

Daystar recommends a certified technician install this system. In addition to these instruction , professional knowledge of disassemble/reassembly procedures as well as post instructions checks must be known. Attempts to install this system without this knowledge and expertise may jeopardize the integrity and/or operating of the vehicle.
Please read all the instructions before beginning the installation. Check the kit hardware against the parts list. Be sure you have all the needed parts and understand where they go. If anything is missing, do not proceed with the installation, call Daystar Products to obtain needed items.

Read and understand these instructions BEFORE attempting to install this product.
1. Make sure vehicle is parked on a level surface.
2. Set parking brake.
3. Disconnect negative battery terminal.
4. If engine has run within the past two hours let it cool down.
5. The following items will be removed from the vehicle.
(a) The OE inlet tube
(b) The air filter case
(c) Intake air noise resonators (Fig A)

Getting started
a) Make sure vehicle is parked on a level surface, and set parking brake.

Removing the stock air inlet system
a) Remove the stock air box assembly and attaching hardware from inside the fender well.
b) Disconnect breather hose from the air inlet tube.
c) Disconnect air temperature sensor harness from the air inlet tube.

The AEM Hybrid Intake System is the result of extensive development on a wide variety of hybrid cars. Each system is engineered for the particular application. The AEM Hybrid Intake System differs from all others in several ways. AEM has conducted extensive inlet air temperature studies and we have seen temperature reductions of up to 50 degrees by pulling air from outside of the engine compartment. The air mass flow to the engine is increased because of the increased airflow and reduced inlet temperature, which translates to more power. The ROADMASTER is a load absorber and will assist with the load carrying ability as stated by the manufacturer with enhanced stability, provided the fitting instructions are followed correctly. The Roadmaster Active Suspension kit must never be fitted while the vehicle is standing with the rear wheels on the ground. In this position the rear leaf springs will be under load and the Roadmaster coil tension spring settings cannot be achieved, resutting in the Roadmaster not working correctly.

This kit has been specifically engineered for the 2000 to current GMT 820 series ½ Ton Sport Utility Vehicles. Please note that this Belltech lowering kit will lower these vehicles approximately 2 inches in front and 3 inches in the rear. We DO NOT RECOMMEND using this lowering kit on vehicles where other aftermarket suspension components have been previously installed. If the vehicle’s suspension has been modified from stock, please return it to its exact original configuration prior to installing this kit.

a) Before removing any of the O.E. components, label each individual part so that no components become mixed up during the installation process.

Before Starting Installation
1. Carefully read all warnings and instructions completely before beginning.
2. Verify all parts have been received in this kit by checking the parts list at the end of this document.
3. Only install this kit on the vehicle for which it is specified.
4. Special tools needed:
a. 17/64” & 5/16” drill bits
b. Tool to trim sheet metal
5. Park vehicle on a clean, dry, flat, level surface and block tires so vehicle cannot roll in either direction.
