Magnum’s HID H3 Fog Light Install

October 20th, 2008 · No Comments

I decided to install HID’s in place of standard halogen bulbs for a little more light and I guess exterior looks. I won’t be able to see them much so I hope you other driver’s like them. Here’s the kit, a standard 35 watt HID nothing fancy conversion kit. The only extra I bought where some load resistor to clear up any “check fog light” errors I may receive.

LS2 equipped SSR & Trailblazer SS High Fuel Pump Upgrade Kit Installation Instructions

September 25th, 2008 · No Comments

If you have a high mileage vehicle, we recommend changing the fuel filters inside the module. The primary fuel filter and the inlet filter sock are not currently available as service parts from GM so changing these filters requires purchasing an all new fuel pump module. Complete fuel pump modules are available from LPE (see part number listed above).

Installation Instructions:
1) Follow the GM service instructions for removing the fuel pump module from your vehicle. Service manuals are available from Helm Inc. ( http://www.helminc.com ).
2) Unplug all the wires from the bulkhead connector at the top of the module.
3) Carefully remove the outer “bucket” from the fuel pump module assembly.
4) Using a small pocket screwdriver, carefully pry the fuel sock (fuel pump inlet filter) from the center pin on the bottom of the fuel pump. Save the fuel sock. You will be reusing the fuel sock when you reassemble the module.
5) Using wire cutters, clip the small ground wire as close to the fuel pump terminal as possible.

1995 Volvo 850 Maintenance Information

July 25th, 2008 · No Comments

The condition of camshaft drive belts should always be checked on vehicles which have more than 50,000 miles. Although some manufacturers do not recommend belt replacement at a specified mileage, others require it at 60,000-100,000 miles. A camshaft drive belt failure may cause extensive damage to internal engine components on most engines, although some designs do not allow piston-to-valve contact. These designs are often called “Free Wheeling”.

VW MKIV Golf Jetta Mass Air Flow Cleaning DIY pdf

June 12th, 2008 · No Comments

This is a guide to cleaning the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, infamously known to VW owners as a problem part. This problem seems to have become more widespread with the release of the Mk. IV platform, which is apparently due to a bad batch of sensors from the Bosch factory. Although most of the faulty MAFs have been weeded out after having failed on their owners, the more hardy MAFs often survive until just after the car’s warranty expires. In most cases the owner is left holding a bill for several hundred dollars for a new MAF and labor costs.
