Repairing emission systems on a Mercedes Benz?

January 2nd, 2011 · No Comments

I have a 1998 C280 Mercedes Benz and the “check engine” light has come on. I immediately called the repair shop and am bringing it in on Monday. The owner’s manual said the check engine light indicates a problem with the emissions system. How bad is that to repair, and how costly?

How much would it cost to get a new bumper for my 2005 Nissan Altima?

December 23rd, 2010 · No Comments

Well part of that depends on where you live. I could replace it for around $700, but it depends on the shop’s labor and material rate. You can claim it on your insurance. It depends on how much of a deductible you have to how much they pay. Say that you get an estimate for 1500. If you have a 500 deduct. then they will pay 1000 and you pay the rest. I would get a couple of estimates. I don’t think that the bumper is available aftermarket yet (certifit, keystone, etc.) so you’ll have to get it from Nissan.

How to replace 2002 Nissan Frontier clutch?

December 23rd, 2010 · No Comments

I just bought a brand new clutch it comes with everything i need i just don’t know how to do it.
A: Replacing the clutch is a tedious job which requires dropping the engine while keeping the car stable, keeping track of the parts and many more… It is even more difficult with a larger vehicle. I would take it to a mechanic who has the proper tools and equipment for this. It is simple but consumes a lot of time, but at least since you bought the clutch, you will only be paying for the labor.

I have a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder and the right intake manifold is cracked?

December 23rd, 2010 · No Comments

I do not know how big the crack is. If the crack is small, is it ok not to fix it? Will there be any problem to the car? If the crack is big and I do not fix it, any problem arise? I have a 1997 Pathfinder but it has only 64,000 miles. It is an old car but with low mileage, that’s why I am debating whether to fix it and keep the car or trade in. I am afraid of more problems arise since this is an old car.

Is my 91 Nissan Pathfinder V6’s engine fan always supposed to be on?

December 23rd, 2010 · No Comments

I am pretty new to the auto scene. The fan seems to be just drivebelt driven, not electric. Each time I rev up the car, you don’t even hear the engine, just a loud WOOOSSHH of the fan. Is it broken? Or is it just how the vehicle was engineered?
