Suzuki VZR1800 Oil Level Inspection And Oil Change Procedure
October 15th, 2008 · No Comments
Suzuki has received reports of overfilled engine oil at initial delivery. The VZR1800K6 uses the Suzuki Advanced Sump System (SASS). The system uses the transmission chamber as an oil tank in this semi-dry sump engine design. Following the proper oil level inspection procedure during Pre-delivery inspection and oil changes is critical to ensure the correct engine oil level. Overfilling the oil sump may cause excess oil to enter the air cleaner housing, contaminating the filter causing poor performance and possible oil leakage. Please instruct your customers in the proper method of checking and filling the oil level.

VW 1.9 TDI Traditional method Oil Change Instructions
August 18th, 2008 · No Comments
This document provides instructions on changing the oil and filter on a VW 1.9 TDI engines. All the pictures here are taken from my 2001 New Beetle with automatic transmission. Golfs and Jettas are slightly different from the images. And manual transmissions have a full cover on the belly pan. Automatics have a cutout on the belly pan. It exposes the transmission. There is a drain plug readily visible that a quick lube place can be confused about. I have heard stories that they remove it and a dark red fluid comes out. You do not want this to happen as you can’t drive it. You will have to have it towed to the dealership. Or you can do it yourself with instructions written by Drivbiwire to deal with it. You can find the ATF change instructions on the TDIClub.
