FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 Remove the original stator & rotor.
Step 2 Fit the new rotor on to the crank shaft locating on to the key (not all models are supplied with a keyway machined into the rotor). Fit the retaining nut but don’t fully tighten if there is no keyway.
Step 3 Position the new stator over the rotor locating on the engine studs using the spacers provided and the original nuts, don’t fully tighten so that the stator can be adjusted if necessary.
Step 4 This will give a maximum total advance of about 350, this is only a guide. Engine tune will affect the actual timing for optimum performance.

Pre-installation Considerations
Since the valve train in a typical overhead valve engine contains numerous components which may or may not be matched, care must be taken to avoid potential issues which may affect the overall performance of the lifters and the engine. These considerations can be best described in two categories: Mechanical Interference and Valve Train Geometry.

Removal of Engine Accessories
1. Remove the hose clamp that holds the intake tube to the throttle body.
2. Remove the intake tube.
3. Check and measure the throttle position sensor voltage with a volt/ohm meter prior to removal. Record your voltage measurements. Disconnect the TPS.

Your new Penske Racing Shock comes pre-adjusted at baseline settings. However, you must check your rear sag before you race! This is very important for optimum performance.
Setting the Sag*
STEP 1
1) Without a rider on the bike, have an assistant lift the rear of the motorcycle until the rear wheel is off the ground slightly.
2) Using a tape measure, measure the distance between the axle center line and a convenient location on the rear subframe (Figure 1).
3) Record this measurement as “A”.
