GSP9700 Series Vibration Control System

November 1st, 2008 · No Comments

The GSP9700 Series Vibration Control System is a wheel balancer with the added capabilities of measuring tire/wheel Road Force, Lateral Force, and wheel runout. The GSP9700 simulates a “road test”, with a unique “load roller” which applies up to 1400 pounds of force against the rotating assembly. The roller measures the loaded runout of the assembly (deflection while under load) and automatically recommends corrections when needed. The GSP9700 technology eliminates many of the time consuming, subjective, and often non-productive manual measurements previously used to diagnose and repair ride disturbance concerns. The operation of this diagnostic tool is discussed later in this manual.

1997-2003 C5 CORVETTE SUPERCHARGER SYSTEM INTERCOOLER UPGRADE

September 15th, 2008 · No Comments

Magna Charger has seen a variance in stock rear wheel horsepower. Numbers between 280 RWHP and 320 RWHP have been recorded on our in-house chassis dynamometer. Depending on year, transmission, or presence of other installed aftermarket products, RWHP numbers of up to approximately 450 at 7 lbs. of boost can be achieved with the installation of the Magna Charger Corvette intercooled supercharger system. Horsepower numbers are reflected by base RWHP numbers and altitude. Magna Charger systems are manufactured to produce about 20 RWHP per pound of boost at sea level. High altitudes will produce different numbers.

Volvo Amazon Road Test

July 27th, 2008 · No Comments

A HIGH quality family four-seater of modern appearance, giving a comfortable ride and having an 85 b.h.p. engine producing a top speed of 94 m.p.h. with acceleration to match: these are qualities which help to make the Volvo Amazon one of the most interesting cars in the up-to-1,600 c.c. class. Sensitive steering, a fine four-speed gear box with central lever, and good road-holding qualities are further attractions. The Amazon was first driven by The Autocar staff in its native Sweden just before its announcement in 1956, and again in the same country earlier this year.

Volvo 745 Turbo Road Test 1985

June 24th, 2008 · No Comments

This somewhat tired question is occasionally worth a re-think. If the German car is authoritative about its own excellence and the Japanese car unbeatably marketable, what is a Swedish car? A hard question. The Saab and the Volvo may have evolved from the same requirements for sturdiness, but they are as different from each other as seems possible. The Saab is nonconformist but generally European in nature, while the Volvo is probably the most American car ever to come over by boat. A truly assimilated product, the Volvo is your car next door, often taken for granted, perhaps by some people even taken to be domestic. Apple pie.

Volvo 480 Road Test pdf

June 7th, 2008 · No Comments

Volvo co-build with Renault (who use it in the R11 and R21) and which also appears in Volvo’s 300 series. For the 480 though, it’s gained multi- point fuel injection and Bosch engine management electronics. Power has risen to 109bhp at 5800rpm (up from the 81bhp of the carburettor version) with torque of 103lb ft peaking at 4000rpm. This high compression ‘low friction’ engine sits transversely between the front driving wheels, mounted in unit with a five-speed transaxle on a detachable subframe. Later, sometime in 1987, Volvo proraise an automatic option for the 480 along with a more powerful 1.7 turbo version offering 125bhp - and also anti lock brakes. As tested, the 480 ran with four wheel disc braking.
