Sir-Gm1 Gm Class-2 Bus Compatible Sirius Satellite Radio Tuner Installation Guide

Your SIR-GM1 is designed replace the factory XM Satellite tuner in select GM vehicles. The tuner is also compatible with systems that support Satellite Radio operation but did not come with a tuner from the factory.

Compatibility
The SIR-GM1 is designed to be compatible with select headunits from 2003 2006 in select vehicles that operate on the Class-2 Bus. Please consult the compatibility chart that is included with this product.

Gm Airbag Steering Wheel Replacement Procedures

This wheel is a direct replacement for your original factory steering wheel with spoke mounted control switches. The original airbag (SIR) module, horn switch, switch harness, switches and shroud from the factory wheel must be removed and transferred to the new GRANT wheel.

2003 Hummer H2 SIR Disabling Enabling Zone 3

SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 Disabling Procedure
Important: Refer to SIR Service Precautions on page 1-1 in General Information before disabling the SIR system.
1. Turn the steering wheel until the vehicle’s wheels are pointing straight ahead.
2. Turn OFF the ignition.
3. Remove the key from the ignition.
Important: With the SIR fuse removed and the ignition ON, the AIR BAG indicator illuminates. This is normal operation and does not indicate an SIR system malfunction.
4. Remove the SIR fuse from the underhood fuse block.
5. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the steering wheel module yellow 2-way connector located left of the steering column near the knee bolster.
6. Disconnect the steering wheel module yellow 2-way connector.

A3/B4 clockspring R&R HOWTO

I decided to start taking pictures only after having the clockspring fully disassembled, as in picture 2, so now I have to play them backwards :-) I do not go into details on removing the airbag or the steering wheel, as there is plenty of material describing these steps. We start with the steering wheel off the car and the airbag disconnected and removed, as shown in picture 1. If you look at pic1, you will see three Phillips head screws and a soldered back and isolated cut in the horn wire, going down to the horn slip ring on the other side. To separate the clockspring assembly from the steering wheel you have to remove those three Phillips screws and either disconnect the horn wire connector, or just cut the wire right now. This will come in handy later, when you will want to separate the slip ring carrier from the assembly.

1995 Volvo 850 Power Steering Rack

Vehicles are equipped with an integral housing steering rack that is sealed and must be replaced if defective.
FLUID LEVEL CHECK
Check fluid level when fluid is cold with engine off. To check and fill, remove fluid level gauge from reservoir and check fluid level. Fluid level should be between MIN and MAX marks on gauge dipstick. Add fluid through dipstick opening as needed, and recheck fluid level. DO NOT overfill.
