1. With the truck on the ground, remove the track bar bolt at the differential Lift truck up, and make sure it is safe by using jack stands or a 2-post lift that locks in place.
1. Support the front axle with a support jack equipped with the proper fixture.
2. Undo the sway bar links.
3. Undo the four U-bolts on the passenger side leaf springs ONLY. Make sure the differential is supported as it may fall at this point.
4. If the truck has hydraulic shocks, just slide them up and out of the way. If the truck has gas shocks, it will be easier to remove them.
5. On the drivers side, LOOSEN but DO NOT REMOVE the U-bolts on the drivers side leaf springs. This will enable the passenger side to sag enough to get the Lift and Level kit into place.

Nix that noise on the Acura MDX
November 14th, 2008 · No Comments
Walt’s 2001 Acura® MDX comes into your shop complaining that the dashboard is creaking. Just the thought of crawling under the dashboard of Walt’s Acura makes your back start creaking. Fortunately, you don’t have to be a contortionist to perform this repair. The fix involves removing the front damper/spring assembly, grinding off body spot weld burrs and refinishing the surface, and/or installing self adhesive shims (Acura P/N 75826-634-300, H/C 0701896) three per side, to the damper mounting base.

I never imagined that I would own a car of this caliber, but that all changed when I made one fatal mistake. I allowed a dealer to hand me the keys for a test drive. Actually, I didn’t want to drive the car, but a friend I had along with me, without my prior knowledge, asked that I be allowed to drive the car. End of story. I now drive an Alpine White M3 and can’t wait to make that last payment.
