COMMANDER 950 TOTAL ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

This tuning manual is designed to take all of the guesswork out of tuning your Commander 950. Holley is dedicated to providing products for our customers that not only outperform your expectations, but also are easy to install and tune.

NOTE: We highly recommend that you carefully read through all the manuals included with your system before installing and tuning your Commander 950 Fuel Injection System. This will eliminate many problem areas and wasted time. This manual covers only the wiring and tuning aspects of the Commander 950. The hardware installation manual (if included) will cover all aspects of the actual installation of the mechanical components (manifold, throttle bodies, etc.).

• EGR SYSTEM: This manifold will accept stock EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) equipment. EGR systems are used on some 1972 and later model vehicles and only in some states. Check local laws for requirements. This manifold is street legal in California on pollution-controlled motor vehicles.

Service Bulletin Subject: R1100/850 Model Throttle Cables Problem: Engine surges at constant speed. Difficult to adjust and balance the left and right throttle bodies. Cause: Differences in opening and closing of the throttle butterflies caused by friction in the throttle cable. Remedy: 1. Fit a low friction throttle cable. 2. Check the following to ensure optimum results: Ignition timing Spark plugs (FR 6DDC) type / condition (reference SI 2739 in Main Group 12) Valve clearances Correct Cat. code plug Check throttle housing inlet manifold for air leaks

Scottoiler: Suzuki Hayabusa (GSX1300R) 2001 & 2002 on Installation Guide for Suzuki Hayabusa 2001 & 2002 onward

On the RHS of the bike there is a vacuum pipe between the cylinder head and the throttle bodies, running behind the throttle pulleys, as shown below left. Cut into this pipe and insert the T-Piece from the Scottoiler kit. Then press the Damper Elbow, part number 4, onto the third leg of the tee. 2002 onward models: On the LHS of the bike there is a vacuum pipe with a check valve in it, as shown in the third picture. Cut into this pipe on the left of the check valve and insert the T-Piece from the Scottoiler kit. Then press the Damper Elbow, part number 4, onto the third leg of the tee.
