The main reasons why people choose a Volvo are well documented. Nowadays, the very word “Volvo” is synonymous with safety, comfort and reliability. As a result, it is now commonly accepted that Volvo sets the safety standards which others follow. Anyone who has driven a Volvo will be happy to tell you about its comfort. And you would have to travel a long way to find a motorist who stopped driving a Volvo because it was unreliable!

The Volvo Car Division comprises the largest product sector within the Volvo Group. Of the total Group sales in 1974 of Skr. 10,500 million, the Car Division was responsible for Skr. 5,600 million. Since January 31, 1975, Volvo Car B.V. in Holland (formerly DAF Car B.V.) has been included in Volvo’s car operations. Volvo Car B.V. achieved sales of Skr. 900 million during 1974.

In 2002, Volvo Cars celebrated its 75th anniversary in a variety of ways, including a big party in Times Square, New York, and the competition of the world’s toughest sailing race – the Volvo Ocean Race. The next generation Sports Utility Vehicle, the Volvo XC90, has received a number of coveted awards. The entire year’s production quota was soon filled. We have therefore increased the production target for 2003 from 50,000 to 60,000 Volvo XC90s. At the Paris Motor Show, the wraps were pulled off the Volvo S60 R and Volvo V70 R.

Volvo Logistics Transport Quality Manual for Storage and Transportation of Cars Manual

These requirements are valid for storage and transportation of Volvo cars. These requirements are Volvo Logistics minimum demands on contracted carriers and their sub-contractors. Carriers can issue their own requirements, but these must be in accordance with Volvo Logistics. If the carrier produces their own instructions, a copy must be sent to Volvo Logistics. The contracted carrier is responsible for ensuring that sub-contractors and their employees are notied of and works according to these requirements. Random inspections and planned audits will be made continuously within the tranfisport flows.
